As our flagship MOVA Globe gained popularity and became one of the most unique décor items on the market, we turned our attention to creating something new: the MOVA Cube. Just as the MOVA Globe took years to develop, we knew the MOVA Cube would also require years of intensive research and design.Before we delve into the cube’s development and features, many of you might ask why a cube shape was chosen rather than any other shape. One of the main reasons for the selection was that a cube’s linear surfaces not only hold in the mixture of fluids, but they also keep the graphics of the encased globe from being distorted. This absence of distortion is essential to the MOVA Cube, for without it, the floating effect becomes much less impressive and apparent. The absence also allows for a very clean, pristine, and contemporary feel that is up to par with, and perhaps even exceeding, the MOVA Globe. The cube shape was also chosen to appeal to a more design-focused audience and to expand our reach to modern homes.

On the surface, transitioning our patented technologies from a sphere to a cube doesn’t seem like the tallest of tasks. Yet, the amount and types of sophisticated fluids used in a MOVA Cube are significantly more than those used in a MOVA Globe. A special method is used to seamlessly inject these fluids into the cube without causing any damage to the cube, globe and graphic or causing any air bubbles. Because of the inherent differences in fluid levels, the MOVA Cube required years of long-term testing to allow for adjustments to be made during production runs. Additionally, the cube had to be tested to ensure proper functionality in various environmental conditions. Despite the long process, the engineering behind it was second-to-none in the industry.

After over five years of research and testing, the MOVA Cube was born. We took the “floating effect” of the MOVA Globe and made it the focal point of a brand new product. Just as our planets float and turn in space, our flagship MOVA Globe now rotates inside a solid, encased cube, just as calmly and magically. Even better, no matter how the cube is positioned, the inner globe will always find its way back to the center, as if it had its own mind. Through a proprietary mixture of fluids, the globe appears to float in mid-air in a low-friction environment. Its visual effect, though vastly different from the original MOVA Globe, is just as mind-blowing. The MOVA Cube is easily placed on any surface so that it can fit in any modern, design-focused interior setting. The MOVA Cube’s mid-air illusion provides inspiration to alleviate the stresses of everyday life.

INNOVATION COMES IN ALL SIZES

Well, in three distinct sizes. From the standard 4.5-inch / 11,4 cm, detailed 6-inch / 15,2 cm, and the larger 8.5-inch / 21,6 cmglobes which serve as a main focal point in any room. To put things into perspective, you can compare our 4.5-inch to a cantaloupe, 6-inch to a honeydew, and 8.5-inch to a watermelon.

• 4.5 inches / 11,4 cm in diameter, fitting in the palm of your hand; slightly larger than a softball. After base assembly, measures approximately 7 inches / 17,8 cm in height and weighs 4 pounds / 1,8 kg

• 6 inches / 15,2 cm in diameter. After base assembly, measures approximately 10 inches / 25,4 cm in height and weighs 6 pounds / 2,7 kg

• 8.5 inches  / 21,6 cm in diameter, slightly smaller than a soccer ball. After base assembly, measures approximately 12 inches / 30,5 cmin height and weighs 13 pounds  / 5,8 kg

THE SECRET'S IN THE SCIENCE

Each globe has a transparent outer shell made from carefully selected, high-quality acrylic. This external layer remains stationary while an internal one spins using advanced magnets for torque and solar cells to power the movement.

Each globe combines vibrant artwork with our patented technology, creating a flawless rotation without batteries or messy cords. Hidden solar cells use ambient natural or artificial light for power, while the earth’s magnetic field provides the necessary torque. These elements work seamlessly to power a 'whisper-quiet' mechanism, allowing the globe to rotate within its clear outer shell. Each piece is assembled with such precision, it appears the inner and outer layers are one – rotating without any outside power source.
